After years of writing and editing, I'm proud to announce my next book will be published on Friday, November 22, 2024!
This book will be available on Amazon as an eBook and Kindle Unlimited. I might have a paperback version as well, but I do not know at this time if it will be available at publish date. Advanced reader copies (ARCs) are available via Book Sprout.
The Favorite Kind of Wild Magic is the first book in my Coven Thirteen duology, which follows the nature witch Maisie and her coven in the Pacific Northwest after one of her sister witches is murdered.
In the mixture of witches and the found family of a coven, Maisie in an introvert with a secretive past and is overall trying to be a better person. Unfortunately, her past haunts her, and she is dealing with new woes. I really like the number of characters I was able to build throughout this story and how Maisie has developed.
This duology started as a passion project as mine, originally written at over 160,000 words. Now at 80,000 words, I have worked to create a story that blends urban fantasy, murder mystery, and emotional conflict.
While I never thought I would write a murder mystery, I also never thought I would delve into a piece of me that was this emotionally raw. As artists, we give parts of ourselves into each of our works. While the duology does not revolve around mental heath, it does play a key part in the story, like it does in many people's lives.
I won't say this book is cozy, though I put this on my lighter side of writing. It combines some very heavy topics, including but not limited to murder, animal death and sacrifice, anxiety, depression, violence, and gore. Please use self judgement when reading.
The Coven Thirteen duology does follow the Castle of Skulls series and the Lake Superior Mermaid series, taking place in the same world, but people do not need to read the other series to enjoy the Coven Thirteen duology. As well as, the vibes and writing style of the Coven Thirteen duology is different than both of those series too.
I'm very excited for you to read this duology. I'll be giving more details about the second book soon!
